Limoni Room — 24 m² in the medina

Sleeps 3 · 24 m² · from €90 / night, breakfast included

The Limoni Room is the least expensive way to stay at Riad Dar Alhambra, at €90 a night with the same Moroccan breakfast, air conditioning and terrace access as the €170 suites. It is 24 m² on the upper floor, done in orange and white with hand-carved wood and ornate pierced-metal lanterns. It is also the most flexible room on the property: the bed sets up as one double or two singles, it sleeps three, and it is the one room where pets are welcome.

The whole riad, at the entry rate

A cheaper room in this riad is not a lesser stay. Breakfast, air conditioning and heating, fast WiFi, the en-suite bathroom, the mini bar, the shared rooftop terrace and its small plunge pool are the same whether you pay €90 or €170. What you give up against a suite is eight square metres, the spa bath and the separate seating area. For a lot of travellers that is the right trade, and it is why this room goes first.

One double or two singles, and room for a third

The bed can be made up as a double or as two singles, so the room works for a couple or for two friends travelling together. It also takes a third guest, which only this room and the African Room do. Tell us which configuration you want when you book.

The room where pets are welcome

Limoni is the one room at the riad that accepts pets. If you are travelling with an animal, this is the booking — message us first with the details so we can confirm before you commit.

What is included, and how you reach the room

Included in the rate

  • Moroccan breakfast, made in the riad each morning
  • Air conditioning and heating — both matter here; medina walls are cold in winter
  • Fast free WiFi throughout the riad
  • Private en-suite bathroom with free toiletries and a hairdryer
  • Mini bar, flat-screen TV and a wardrobe
  • Rooftop terrace, shared by all guests, with a small plunge pool open in the warmer months
  • Daily housekeeping, and help arranging an airport transfer on request

Finding the room, and getting to the riad

This room is on the riad’s single upper floor, reached by the main staircase from the courtyard — there is no lift, and like most old medina houses the stairs are steeper and narrower than you would find in a hotel. If that is a problem, the Chaouen Suite is the one room on the ground floor.

Worth knowing before you arrive: the medina’s lanes are pedestrian, so a taxi cannot reach the door and the last stretch is on foot. Tell us your arrival time and we can arrange an airport transfer and help you in with luggage.

What is around you

Riad Dar Alhambra is inside the medina, the walled old city — which is the reason to stay in a riad rather than a hotel in Guéliz. The Ben Youssef Madrasa, the 14th-century Quranic school with the courtyard everyone photographs, is a two-minute walk from the door. The souks, the tanners’ quarter and Jemaa el-Fna are all walkable, and you come back through the lanes to a house where the noise simply stops at the entrance.

That is the trade a riad asks you to make: no car to the door, and in exchange a quiet courtyard house in the middle of the old city. Most guests decide it is the right one. More about the riad.
