Short answers

If you only read one line

You would rather not climb stairs — the Chaouen Suite. It is the only room on the ground floor. The riad has no lift, so this is the one room you reach without stairs.
You want a fireplace — the Royal Suite. It is the only room that has one.
You are three people — the African Room or the Limoni Room. No other room takes a third guest.
You want two separate beds — the Long Room is set up as twins by default; Beldi, African and Limoni can be made up that way too.
You are watching the budget — the Limoni Room at €90, with the same breakfast and terrace as every other room.
You are travelling with a pet — the Limoni Room, the only one that accepts them. Message us first.
You want the most space — any of the three suites. All are 32 m² and add a spa bath and a seating area.

What every room has in common. Moroccan breakfast, air conditioning and heating, fast WiFi, a private en-suite bathroom, a mini bar, a TV, and access to the shared rooftop terrace with its small plunge pool, open in the warmer months. The difference between a €90 room and a €170 suite is space, a spa bath and a seating area — not the quality of the stay.

Worth knowing

Three things we would want to know before booking a riad

There is no lift, and six of the seven rooms are upstairs

Riad Dar Alhambra is an old courtyard house in the medina, and like almost every riad it has no lift. Six rooms sit on the single upper floor, reached by a staircase that is steeper and narrower than a hotel’s. The Chaouen Suite is on the ground floor and needs no stairs. If mobility matters to your booking, tell us exactly what you need and we will give you a straight answer rather than a hopeful one.

A car cannot reach the door

The medina’s lanes are pedestrian. A taxi drops you at the nearest vehicle point and the last stretch is on foot. This is true of essentially every riad inside the walls, and it is the reason the courtyard is so quiet once you are inside. Send us your arrival time and we can arrange an airport transfer and help you in with luggage.

The pool is a rooftop plunge pool, not a swimming pool

It is small, it is on the terrace, and it is open in the warmer months. We would rather write that plainly here than have you arrive expecting lengths.
